Innervate

since all druids will be getting innvate this macro will be invaluable.

/script x=UnitClass("target");if (not UnitIsFriend("player”,"target") or (UnitManaMax("target")<200 and x~="Druid")) then TargetUnit("player");end;CastSpellByName("Innervate");TargetLastEnemy();

if your innervate target does not have mana or is an enemy it will innervate you so no more innervating warriors and rogues it WILL however innervate druids in feral forms and moonkin forms

Relics

Hello all just making sure everyone knows how to get or new relics.

Idol of Ferocity there is no excuse for not having this now its not useful to all but it beats the hell out of Egan’s Blaster
The Fight first you have to stealth through BRD to the circle of law that is the second cave entrance from the right be very careful of the hounds they have a level 60 sight witch means if you get to close in stealth they will see you. They give a warning when on to you, they stop and look at you if you stop and wait for them to leave you are fine if you continue to move closer to them in any direction they will attack you. As you get further into the tunnel you will see lord roccor patrolling the hallway DO NOT engage him in the hallway move further and you will see an entrance into a small room, a boss call the beastmasters resides there don’t think he can be solo he has 4 dogs with bleed effects that ignore armor, step into the entrance this place if safe wait for lord roccor to come from the right, it is ideal to have gear that gives you 7000 or more armor in bearform, before attacking hit yourself with regrowth and rejuv then moonfire lord roccor as he gets further to your left go into bear form and kick his ass the usual fight should go like this maul maul maul maul maul demo roar stun regrowth rejuv bear maul build aggro at half aggro hit frenzied regen demo roar stun heal he should be dead a little after your second heal if not pop a potion while you wait for stun to cooldown.

Idol of Rejuvenation This one is a bit harder and requires an item from the dungeon armor set upgrade quests.
Ok this one is a bit hard to explain once you have done steps 1-3 of the dungeon set quests step four is to purchase a Hallowed Brazier from the argent dawn dawn you can then use that item to summon Mor Grayhoof in LBRS ( the room that voone is in) you can of course just go with someone who has the quest you don’t have to have it yourself and if that person is a druid or rogue it can be stealthed (ask kym palima kymm and tysa) on a better note once all of the dungeon set quests have been completed that person receives Brazier of Invocation witch can be used to summon Mor as well as other bosses in all instances at any time.

Idol of Health It doesn’t seem like much .15 cast reduction to healing touch but if you are wearing healing gear and have improved healing touch a 2.85 heal for 3000+ can come in handy.

This is an epic Idol that drops in AQ40 from an optional boss called viscidius a pure poison and Nature damage boss. IMO its not worth all that but if you kill him and it drops it does seem better than Idol of Rejuvenation when healing a set tank and not doing a backup on the entire raid

HealBot in a UBRS 10 man with a competent priest

You may find this hard to believe but priests can heal a raid by theirselves hell so can druids basically if you know how to play you can heal 10 people. So what if two of you know how to play but the other guy has healing covered do you sit back and watch or take intermitent naps...neither you pwn things with your uber feral DPS(ok maybe you don’t pwn as much as you pad DPS..but whatever) I very much enjoy wrath spam cause it allows for great DPS at almost no mana cost the wonderful insect swarm kicks but becuase of that - chance to hit it makes your tank happy trust me they may not know but those little bugs save him from crushing blows and the like. Starfire pew pew is good for big numbers slowly like in a bossfight you will not call aggro with starfire trust me it casts so slow the tank has 3 taunts in by the time your spell hits but when it does the poor boss looses a lot of health. this applies to any group with a competent healer BTW the best way for a resto druid to DPS is using our wonderful balance spells. unless you have great feral equipment witch being resto specced I doubt you collected. Have fun

Feral Specced Druid(being forced to heal)

ZOMG you want me to heal WTF NOOB I’m Feral let me tank! as much as I would love for this to work outside of guild it rarely does(moon please don’t try it) this means you need healing gear no,you won’t be able to heal better than a resto specc but umm...oh well if you are below level 50 you probably have a bunch of green gear with agi str and sta in witchever order you chose depending on wether you wanna hit hard or take hard hits so what do you do? wear items that have intel and agi or sta and agi(The Eagle,Bear,Falcon, and Gorilla suffixes are what you are looking for? spirit unless its necessary you are gonna need mana pots more than the average druid so take a stack and a half or so to be safe once you get into the upper 50’s you can start crafting or having cool armor crafted (see me or palima) this is where your 16 slot bags come in handy cause its almost requried to have an Ironfeather Set set to heal in it makes it way easier of course you would only wear this when you are requireed to heal(this is where Wardrobe comes in uber handy) of course when not healing you are welcome to wear yourDevilsaur Set or Warbear so remember if you are druid and want to get the most out of feral unfortunately you gotta carry extra gear sucks I know but I have learned to adapt and you probably will too. At level 60 is where it gets good this is where you can start to ninja rogue gear see my feral guide for a small list of what is out there. also a few points in resto never hurt anyone you are gonna like furor anyways so try to dip deeper. I hope you love being a bear or cat I know I love being a bear

Druid What do we do in a party?

This is a great question and honestly depends on the makeup of the group but don’t be surprised if you are asked to join a party solely to heal. Its not big deal and you can heal no matter your talent choices its just way easier if you have some points in restoration. But what if you are lucky and you are the second druid in a party with a priest or lets say me should you spread your wings and fly on the windstream that is our druidic might, yes, hehe this is basically a really long excuse for me writing several small paragraphs ourlining some of the infinite, okay not infinitate but many, party posibilities in witch you won’t heal.

Entry Three: Feral Greatness

That is right I said it druids can tank. All we need is Stamina, Strength, and +Defense items. The latter is hardset to find since we can only wear leather Weapons, trinkets, etc are the place to look unfortunately the few blue items we can use as tank druids are taken up by low level rogues (at higher levels rogues figure out they are there to hit really hard then die) here is a shorlist of items you should look for if anything look for similar items:

Arena Bracers
lots of stamina kinda low level but a good place to start
Blackmist Armguards
really high stamina drops from the beast and no one has ever called need
Bone Ring Helm
high stamina and a little of other stats just for show it basicaly says feral druid on it
Embrace of the Lycan
okay stamina easy to get and dps we can always use dps
Felhide Cap
was really easy to get now not so much its pretty decent if you are in that part of the world
Flamescarred Shoulders
these are uber I cant get a pair cause the loot gods hate me
Frostbite Girdle
pretty damn good belt and rogues dont like it not sure why
Gargoyle slashers
these are nice a little hard to get and rogues like them
Evil Eye Pendant
good luck if a rogue doesnt take it a warrior will
Force of Willl
uber liscious a proc that works in forms and + to defense
Ring of Defense
its a level 22 ring so what if you cant find any other + to defense stuff this is where to look a lot of the time its AH fodder(I put this on my hunter cause I am an idiot
Demon’s Blood
long quest but no competion
Smoking Heart of the Mountain
a lot of armor in one item slot,If you are willing to through the hell that is enchanting
Mark of Tyranny
armor and dodge good quest item you must resist the other two they are evil

Okay that is enough for tanking if you notice you wont really hit hard with that stuff that is why we have growl and swipe as a tank these are your friends(If you still have problems holding aggro try to increase your chance to crit using some cat items or some of the high agi bear items). I usually start a fight with a growl maul and demo roar then swipe for adds and demo roar every now and then never let growl of its cooldown mages hit really hard.

Cat Form(I thought DPS would look gay, then again so does cat form)
Okay you wanna crit a lot so your main stats become Strenght, Agility, and Chance to crit. that is right its so important it gets its own category (25agi is about how much we need for one chance to crit) if you do your job right you will need to use cower after every 5 point finisher. p.s. some people have said 3 point finishers are better for rip to keep a constant DoT on the target)here again is a brief list of equipment:

Belt of Preserved Heads
greatest belt ever but you have to be in a good zul gurub group we will be there one day
Flamescarred Shoulders
great dps set str and agi in one as well as some sta ./drool
Ghostshroud
Love this baby I am sure we could stealth to it if we tried one day
Do not go for the shadowcraft set only pieces with 10 or more str(so the pants and helm)
the fullsset http://www.thottbot.com/?set=121 Cadaverous Garb
gotta love this set pretty undesirable by rogues but all the str is awesome for us
The abyssal items of striking absolutely uber all of them
Eye of Rend
yeah baby
Magni’s Will
quest reward for the win the king of Ironforge gives you this baby
Ragefury Patch
hurley is in the bar of BRD probably stealthable
Shadowskin Gloves Shadowskin Gloves
lvl 35 item but worth mentioning
Tombstone Breastplate
more uberness from scholo
There are of course more items that fit the description, as a feral druid you may be forced to wear a lot of Bind on Equip items witch is fine really you don’t look like a gold-farmer...okay maybe you do but hey you are having gun

Entry Two: Balance

I lied sorry balance first thanks to caelestis for this well thought out guide(it was all me he deserves no credit)

The least likable tree in the druid arsenal of talents. As a full balance I value the most intellect and stamina, with spirit as a secondary attribute to my stats. The items that one should aim for is +damage to armor/weapon(s) and % chance to hit critical with spells. Unfortunately you will not find to many leather items with damage and critical to spells, and with trinkets and rings, you will have to compete against mages, priests and warlocks. Here are few items that you can get pretty easy as a casual player in regular instances as a drop or as a quest reward.

Tanglemoss Leggings

As Sisko said in his entry, Dire Maul (DM) is your friend in balance as well regarding items for a druid with plus damage and/or % to critical strike with spells. These pants drop from west side of DM from an elemental boss named Tendris Warpwood (60+ elite), with about 22-25 % chance of a drop.

Insightful Hood

See Sisko’s comment on this item.

Bloodfire Talons

See Sisko’s comment on this item.

Chestplate of Tranquility

Also DM west, drops from a NPC named Prince Torheldrin (61+ elite). However this NPC is neutral to you unless you have a quest to turn him hostile and kill him. This is why this piece of equipment is very hard to get, because you can not just farm him, you have to have people with you in a party that have the quest. This item is also nice for restoration druid, since it allows for plus damage and healing.

Cyclone Spaulders

See Sisko’s comment on this item.

Waterspout Boots

These boots can be farmed from an elemental in DM East called Hydrospawn with about 16% chance of a drop. These boots lack in buffs (6 intellect, 6 spirit) however they do make up with +25 to damage and healing.

Burst of Knowledge (trinket)

This trinket can be found in BRD instance from an NPC named Ambassador Flamelash. The chance of him dropping this item is about 9.5%.

Briarwood Reed

This trinket drops from a rare spawn in UBRS named Jed Runewatcher (54-59 elite). The chance of a drop is about 25%.

Band or Rumination

This ring drops from an NPC in UBRS called Rend Blackhand (a triggered spawn). It has no buffs, but it has a 1% critical to spells, and restores 5 mana every 5 seconds.

Tempest Talisman (Necklace)
Tempest Talisman

Good necklace at DM East from Hydrospawn at about 15% drop rate.

Heliotrope Cloak

One of the best blue back items for a caster in a game. Drops of a first named guard in DM North.

Rod of Ogre-Magi

This staff drops from a tribute run in DM North. A great blue staff for a caster with damage and critical to spells. Put addition +30 damage enchant on this staff and you are ready to go.

Wildheart Raiment

This is an ok set for me, it is a first set for a druid, stats are ok, and set bonuses are alright, however as noted above with all other items listed there is armor out there that is a lot better.

Eye of the Beast

This is a quest reward from a quest named ‘General Drakkisath’s Demise’ which involves killing the head boss of UBRS. Good trinket, its just too bad it doesn’t have any buffs on it. But, for a caster, a must.

These are just few items listed that are good for a balance specked Druid. Of course there are more items out there , like rings, trinkets and off hand items that are either drops, bought from a vendor (PVP) or quest rewards. A quick warning regarding PVP. Balance spec is not a PVP spec. Go for feral if you would like to PVP. Regarding the talent build, I leave that to individual, depending what they are doing (solo, raids..etc.).

Sisko is better therefore he gets the last word.
Welcome to a new addition to the site smile if you noticed a lot of the items were listed in my healing set. I think this is a way to make it easier to deal damage using our balance tree and heal relatively well without the full outfit change that feral usually requires either way good job and thank you caelestis for doing my job err...helping with the site yeah that is it.there WILL be a quiz so you better read this. rolleyes I have discovered smileys

Spirit

I just found this in the druid forums very useful,to me anyways, it further helps me hate spirit Forum Link

Every “tick” is 2 seconds.
Druids get spirit/5 mana per tick.

So druids get spirit/10 mana per second while not casting.
Or, with 3/3 Stormrage as of 1.9 and Reflection, spirit/33.33 mana per second while casting.

Concentration is X/5 mana per second both while casting and while not casting.

Using these equations and my spirit

219/33.3 6.57 mana while casting after talents
219/10 21.9 mana per second while not casting
17/5 3.4 mana per second at all times from concentration items
This is why I think spirit sucks minimal returns if I go all out and get spirit gear like Grok here (highest spirit druid for our server listed in allakhazam) still only 28 mana per second witch may be good for Grok since his intel is only 201. So remeber Sisko hates spirit

If I left anything out feel free to contact me

Entry one: Healing

Its a necessary evil! unfortunately, you will be healing when you get the items for your other forms so this is the most important of your skills, remember its great to have mana but you have to use it wisely this is why I go for plus to healing spells and some mana regen items then intel trust me intel is not my low stat by any means but I dont prioritize it (its just kinda there)

*Ghoul Skin Leggings
One of two great pants from scholo, this one drops from lord alexi barov the plus to healing is quite a bit althought the intel is a bit on low side witch is okay if you stack +healing you are able to use much lower ranks of the same spells to achieve the same healing capacity.
*Bracers of Prosperity
Dire Maul is your friend, these are found on tribute runs from the king, another great plus healing item because this has great plus healing you can enchant them with the cheaper enchant +to mana regen instead of the pretty expensive +24 to healing not to mention harder to find.
*Gloves of Restoration
Exhibit A, this great pair of gloves can be obtained at dire maul east from the last satyr, another great pair of +healing gear not a lot of spirit, spirit is gimped for druids but if can get it do, but the plus to healing tries to make up for it and does a pretty good job.
*Insightful hood
Exhibit B, this helm is very hard to obtain because you have to kill cho rush the observer and everyone wants to do a full tribute this is the only reason I dont have one, once again no spirit DM gear was meant for you to efficiently use your lower rank spell to get through short battles in long battles you are gonna want more spirit or +mana regen gear but the only non-endgame long battle is...well there are none so dont worry about it till you start getting the big invites.
*Cyclone Spaulders
Great shoulders drop from Gordok Tribute I find them better than Wildheart the plus to healing makes up for the slight loss in spirit.
*Clever Hat
Yeah its a green drops all the time in DM east but the +7 mana regen makes it a must for long battles grab one and bank it but I pimp it sometimes in low instances(dead bird not as pretty).
*Bloodfire Talons
A pretty random drop from sunken temple if it drops take it great Fire resist and damage dealing if not to heal then when you get the itch to spam wrath.
*Verdant Footpads
Good starter boots, drop from a rare in stratholme being a healer you can get into stratholme pretty early, lvl 52 druid was in there and there were no wipes, so if these drop be sure to pick them up if not for healing then when you get an itch…
*Ghostloom Leggings
Second pants from scholo ugly as hell though, drop from jandice who gets skipped a lot so I dunno how the droprate is, some good mana regen 6/5 doesnt seem like much but put with a paladin and other mana gear you can outlast a lot of folks now if you put this with some DM gear then you arent oulasting them but you are keeping up and in 5 mans you will have the mana you need.
*Magistrates Cuffs
Pretty good drop rate from stratholme, drops from the magistrate all the time its an okay piece but the bracers of prosperity are better when properly enchanted if you are wearing greens take these puppies I had them till 57 or so they help in the mana department.
*Crystallized Girdle
Relatively rare drop from solakar in UBRS(father flame guy) but worth it I wore for quite some time then I downgraded to wilheart belt ( I had the gota get my set mentality) witch was cool didnt lose much but if an item is better and you find your set item bank the set item till better set bonuses appear.
*Wildheart Raiment
Alright here it is wildheart set, why wasnt it listed earlier? Well cause I hate it not all of it but alot of it like the boots not only are they ugly but okay the boots are great a good bit of spirit for long fights intellect and sta good all around stats but why no texture, the belt and bracers are great pieces both BoE nice intel on both of them and not so ugly, the kilt is awesome plus to all stats is great for a druid unless you are specifing in the case of the healbot wildheart kilt can be replaced with another pair of pants and usually should since the str is completely wasted and the agility is pretty useless too, I have decided not to discuss the helm becuase of personal isssues(its a dead bird) good helm though I wear it (graphic off) I have yet to see the shoulders or chestpiece drop so I will not comment and there are suitable if not better replacements now the set bonuses I believe suck some other people support and that is okay Tysa hehe. but they separated all spell categories and decided those were suitable bonuses(they could be for a range dps druid but not a healer).
*Ironfeather Armor
This set if for low level get the pieces as soon as you are able to wear them so you get the most use out of them the new set of bonus of +20 to healing is pretty good specially if you are unable to get into instance runs cause of your schedule (raiders will take druids anywhere there are no priests) it can be “easily” crafted the ironfeathers are a bitch to get but I have some.

Talent Build
This is a healing runner build great for the new 20 man instances if you draw aggro you have two choices keep the enemy rooted or go bear at a cheaper price till the tank gets to help you, you will not be able to deal much damage in bear so as long you dont taunt it should be okay for you to bash in order to avoid damage. I believe this build could also be used in a close knit battleground group but you would have to know your party other wise they may never come to help you.(this build is pure healbot you can try to do some dps in forms but you will need some serious STR gear so make sure to catch next weeks article on feral forms)

*If I left anything out please feel free to email me red face
